The final Instagram posts ever made by Val Kilmer, for which his daughter has confirmed the cause of death

Just a few days before he passed away, Val Kilmer published his final post on Instagram

After struggling with a number of health problems over the course of the previous ten years, the actor, who was 65 years old, passed away yesterday, April 1. A statement made by Mercedes Kilmer, Kilmer’s daughter, to the New York Times stated that the cause of death of her father was pneumonia.

It is possible that readers may recall that the actor who starred in Batman Forever and Top Gun was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014. Kilmer suffered irreversible damage to his voice cords as a result of the chemotherapy and tracheotomy procedures that he received as part of his treatment for the cancer with which he was diagnosed.

In his memoir, I’m Your Huckleberry, which will be published in 2020, as well as in the documentary Val, which is available on Amazon Prime, the actor, who made his first appearance on screen in the 1984 film Top Secret, discussed his diagnosis and rehabilitation.

The documentary features Kilmer’s explanation, which is as follows: “I obviously am sounding much worse than I feel.” It is impossible for me to speak without first closing this hole (in his throat). The decision of whether to breathe or to eat is under your control.

“This is a challenge that is very present with anyone who comes into contact with me.”

It was in the film Top Gun: Maverick, which was released in 2022, that Kilmer resumed his role as the legendary Iceman. This was his final film credit.

Following the challenges he had throughout his fight against cancer, Val Kilmer decided to take a break from acting in order to focus his creative energy on the art world. There was probably no place where this transformation was more obvious than on the actor’s Instagram feed, where he frequently displayed parts of his collection.

In point of fact, the very last thing he ever posted on Instagram was a picture of one of his paintings, along with the statement, “It has that late-night shine. Tones that are chilly and have a low burn, similar to the way that the campfire becomes less intense but you are still wide awake.

It was on February 23 that the final post that included Kilmer himself was included in the publication. While wearing a Batman mask, the actor from Willow, who was seen beside David Choe, a fellow artist and star of Walking Dead, offered a witty remark, “It’s been a while.”

Following the devastating news of the late star’s passing, the internet has been filled with tributes being paid to the deceased celebrity.

A statement was posted on social media by actor Josh Brolin, which said, “You were a smart, challenging, brave, and uber-creative firecracker.” There are not many of those left in existence. I have high hopes that I will be able to glimpse you in the sky when I finally arrive there. For the time being, the most wonderful recollections and thoughts.”

Josh Gad, on the other hand, wrote, “Rest in peace, Val Kilmer. Many of the films that I watched when I was a kid are thanks to you for defining them. It is true that you were a legend.

Until you rest in peace, Val Kilmer!
